The Supermarine Seafire was the navalised version of the famous Spitfire. Like the Spitfire it was continually developed, with the earlier ones powered by the Rolls Royce Merlin engine and the later ones by the Rolls Royce Griffon. It served in WW2 and post WW2 with the Royal Navy as well as the French and Canadian navies. It wasn't an ideal carrier fighter, and suffered many landing accidents but once in the air, it proved as able as the Spitfire in air combat.

Sword are a Czech based manufacturer and make kits of many subjects that others don't. Their kits are what are known as 'short run' kits. They are still injected moulded plastic with a good level of detail but require more care when building than more mainstream kits. They do build up into nice models when done.

This limited Edition set contains 5 individual Seafire kits, which are all the Seafire kits Sword have released in the past. There is a Mk IIc, Mk III, two Mk XV's and a Mk XVII. All are Royal Navy aircraft, except for one of the Mk XV's, which is RCN. There is one marking option per kit, except for the Mk IIc, which has two slightly different options for one particular Mk IIc.
