The P-80 Shooting Star was one of the US' first jet fighters. Although it was developed at the end of WW2 it saw no combat in that conflict. The P-80C served in the Korean War in the air to air role ground attack role until sufficient F-86's were available, whereby it was only used in ground attack missions. The USAF changed the designation of fighter aircraft to F instead of P, so the P-80 became the F-80.
The Illyushin IL-10 was developed from the famous IL-2 Sturmovik, with a higher performance and greater payload. It entered service just in time to see some action at the end of WW2. It was used by the Russian Air Force and Russia's allies, until 1962 when the Czech air force retired them but they lasted another 10 or so years in Chinese service.
This set contains both a P-80C Shooting Star and a IL-10 kits. Each kit is injection moulded plastic with some resin parts and decals.
