The Lockheed Hudson started out as the Model 14 Super Electra commercial airliner. The RAF needed extra maritime patrol aircraft to supplement the Avro Anson and when Lockheed demonstrated a modified Super Electra, the RAF ordered it. The Super Electra had its airliner interior removed, twin machine guns in the nose and turret and provisions for bombs or depth charges to be carried, thus becoming the Hudson. The Hudson proved successful in its military role and became the first RAF plane to shoot down a German plane, in October 1939.
MPM is a Czech based manufacturer and this is their 1/72 Hudson kit. The kit is injection moulded plastic and is well detailed with engraved panel lines and should form the basis of a really nice model. There are decals for 5 different USAAF and USN aircraft.
Please note MPM kits are not for beginners
