The UH-34 Choctaw is a medium sized helicopter that was originally designed as an ASW helicopter for the US Navy. As with many other aircraft it was used in many different roles, such as troop transport, utility transport, medical evacuation and even trialled as a gunship. It served with the US Navy from 1954 but was retired by the early 1970's. The UH-34 was used by many nations and formed the basis of the British Westland Wessex and many examples are still in civilian use today.
Hobby Boss are a relatively new company to us in Western Europe. They are from China and are connected with Trumpeter and are known for producing well engineered kits with a good level of detail. This particular kit looks very well detailed.
There are markings are provided for 2 different helicopters, one from the French Navy and the other from the Belgian Air Force.
