HBB83523 1/350 USS Gato SS-212 1941

The USS Gato was the lead boat in a hugely successful class of submarines in WW2. They were fast with a heavy torpedo armament and they along with the improved class, the Balao's, were mass produced in great numbers. They sank huge amounts of Japanese merchant ships and many warships, including aircraft carriers such as Taiho, Shokaku and Shinano. Several have been preserved as museum ships around the USA.

This kit from Hobby Boss looks nicely detailed and is simple enough for new ship modellers to build and paint, as well as for more experienced modellers to make into a really nice model. It's a full hull kit and comes with decals, stand and an etch metal nameplate.
