The Flak Panzer 38(t) was an interim anti aircraft vehicle based on the otherwise obsolete Panzer 38(t) chassis. As the Germans were pushed on to the defensive from 1943, it was realised they needed mobile anti aircraft guns to protect the panzer divisions. The Flak Panzer 38(t) filled a gap while better anti aircraft tanks were developed. Just over 140 were made and certainly saw action with the Panzer Divisions, such as the Elite army division, the Panzerlehr, in Normandy 1944.
This is a highly detailed plastic kit with photo etch metal parts. The tracks are moulded in sections instead of the old style vinyl one piece tracks. There are markings for 2 different tanks.
