The Messerschmitt Bf110 was designed as a 2 seat heavy fighter to act as an escort fighter and bomber destroyer. Although fairly fast and well armed it was clumsy compared to single engine, single seat fighters like the RAF's Spitfires and Hurricanes and proved easy meat for the RAF fighters. The Bf110 was used in other roles, such as fast bomber, ground attack and later as a Night Fighter.
The Bf110F was similar to the Bf110E but had a strengthened airframe and slightly more powerful DB601 engines. The F-4 was the first 110 properly designed as a night fighter, with a 3 man crew and radar.
Eduard are a Czech based manufacturer famed for their model accessories. They have in the last few years released a successful range of kits. This kit is made from injection moulded plastic but is very complex with machine gun bay and cockpit detail. It would suit an experienced modeller very well. Also includes Mask, Etch and decals for 5 aircraft.
