The BAC Jet Provost is a 2 seat jet training aircraft that was in service with the RAF from 1955-1993. The main RAF version was the T.Mk 3 with the T.Mk 5 coming later on, featuring a more powerful engine and cockpit pressurisation. The Jet Provost proved to be a capable jet trainer and was also used as a weapons trainer. It was a success on the export market and now is a popular jet for civilian jet enthusiasts for both pleasure and for airshow displays due to it's relative cheapness. A more powerful version, known as the Strikemaster was developed as a light attack aircraft for the export market.
This kit is Airfix's New Tool injection moulded, plastic kit of the Jet Provost. The level of detail is excellent with engraved panel line and there are decals provided for 2 RAF aircraft.
