The Gnat was an Advanced trainer with a secondry light fighter role. It served as the RAF's advanced trainer from 1959 to 1979 when it was replaced by the BAe Hawk. During that time it was used by the Red Arrows as their display aircraft. Gnat's were used with some success as a fighter by the Indian Air Force, often getting the better of the F-86 Sabre in dogfights.
This is Airfix's excellent new tool Gnat kit. The kit is highly detailed with engraved panel lines and comes with markings one RAF aircraft.
